Tämä levy julkaistiin syksyllä 1974 nelikanavaisena miksauksena 8-track kasetilla ja seuraavan vuoden alussa quad-LP:nä (kuva 5). Miksaus on ollut lähes 50 vuotta poissa markkinoilla kunnes 23.06.2023 Rhino julkaisi sen uudelleen (mutta vain Amerikassa). Tilasin ylimääräisen satsin (kuva 3) siltä varalta että joku ei ennätä tilata omaansa ennen painoksen loppumista. Levyllä on mukana huomattavasti CD-ääntä parempi korkearesoluutioinen stereo ääniraita.

NIGHTMARES showcased The J. Geils Band’s unique blend of blues-rock and R&B. The album features the track “Must of Got Lost,” which reached #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1974.
