This is the best single album by The Byrds, even though the group fell apart as they were making it. I think a lot of the credit must go to producer Gary Usher, who put it together as a seamless segue. It is a very full sounding record. The vocals are great and there is a lot of instrumentation. This is not an album that could have been reproduced live, at least not in 1968. But it still sounds as fresh as a daisy.
