About twenty years ago, Willie Dixon, one of the most influential song writers and trend-setting blues musician, died. Dixon, who was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi and once stated "I am the Blues!" significantly shaped the Chicago-Blues of the Fifties and Sixties.

As bassist and producer at Chess or Cobra he played the bass at countless studio sessions. He also was a hit producer - he wrote various legendary blues hymns like "Hoochie Coochie Man", "Spoonful", "I Can't Quit You Baby" or "Back Door Man". Stars like the Rolling Stones, Cream, Led Zeppelin, Grateful Dead, Elvis, The Doors or the Black Crowes celebrated huge successes with his songs.

The unique 10-CD set "Willie Dixon & Friends - Poet of the Blues" offers an extensive overview of his musical activities.
